A door is unlocked and opened to the sound of a moderate rain. It is then closed again and there is a short period of the rain sound continuing, only muffled by the closed door.

Rain falling on leaves. Also can hear a car driving in the background. Recorded with: sony ecm-ms907-->sony mz-r66 md recorder-->imac line-in-->dsp-quattro-->wav. No effects applied, only editting was taking out some noisy parts.

This recording was made in the afternoon during a rainshower under my carport in louisiana. The rain is striking three different surfaces in this track: cement, roofing and plantlife. Now, i'm no pro, nor is my equipment (olympus ws-310m w/ built in mic), so discerning these different sounds is difficult. You can hear the dripping from rain: fast drip in the background of this track. However slight, there is also a noticeable electronic note which is simultaneous with the water striking these surfaces. You can also hear slight rustling sounds that could be wind or my shirt moving near the mic (i was wearing the device on a lanyard). The file is wav, recorded in stereo at 16 bit at 44. 1mhz.

Rode nt4 -> maudio delta1010lt, capturing a lightning strike that made the walls of my house shake, and forced me to turn off my computer. The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. Clipped quite a bit, had the input slightly too high, but did not expect one to hit so close. A picture hanging on my wall shook violently when this one hit. Recorded a thunderstorm using my camera, and mixed this existing sample of a thunderstorm with it. . Http://freesound. Iua. Upf. Edu/samplesviewsingle. Php?id=2523. Also used a few patches from a symsynth to build the thunderclap and some of the rain effects. Added some delays, reverb, compression and eq as well as splitting several tracks and offsetting them to create a spacial soundscape.

Really heavy downpour of rain (or so i thought), so i headed out to capture with the zoom h4n and realized it was hail! rare for northern california.

Here's a sound i recorded in my front yard when it was raining. There's vehicles passing by. Recorded with the mic on zoom h4n, couldn't find my wind screen so i covered it with a shirt.

This was created by recording the sound of rain coming off of the corner of my house and hitting my pavement driveway. It was collecting in the corner of my roof, which is what made the sound louder and stronger than the sound of rain which was falling naturally.
